Rebecca Richardson is an Architectural Designer based in Mid-Wales. She studied Architecture BA (Hons) at the University of Manchester, and completed her Diploma in Architecture: Energy and Environmental Studies, Prof Dip (Barch), at the Centre for Alternative Technology. Rebecca has always excelled at graphical representation and enjoys bringing ideas to life in the form of art.
Rebecca has found that it takes artistic imagination to make that leap from black and white plans to a fully rendered photo-realistic image of a building. She has found time to develop and perfect these skills through designing and planning energy efficient timber frame houses for private clients over the past 10 years. Her concept schemes for schools, eco-pods, and affordable housing developments have been featured in a national architectural journal (Touchstone), as well as been used by a large innovative housing association (Gwalia) towards grant fund applications. Rebecca has also found time to combine her architectural knowledge and graphic design skills into the production of a 'Safer Guide to Building Houses Handbook' for the Malawi Red Cross. She spent three months in Malawi shadowing project officers on a reconstruction project for 300 houses prior to completing the graphic work. This helped her to develop graphics that would be understood by Malawian tradesmen and laymen. Rebecca works for private clients, developers, and NGO's. She runs a small architectural design practice in Mid-Wales, primarily taking on private houses and small-scale housing developments. |
